Margo Lukens is professor in the University of Maine Department of English and presently serves as chair of the Department of New Media and director of academic programs in Innovation Engineering. She teaches Innovation courses and English courses, including 18th- & 19th-century Anglo-American and Native American literatures. Her research interests include Wabanaki literary and storytelling history; Native American and First Nations plays and playwrights; innovation; and making whiteness visible to white people. She edited Grandchildren of the Buffalo Soldiers and other untold stories: five plays by William S. Yellow Robe, Jr. (UCLA, 2009) and published with William Yellow Robe “Two Worlds on One Stage,” a critical article on creating theater with Native American communities. Her work has included producing and directing Native American plays on campus and in the region, and generally participating in as much theater as possible, given all the rest.
