Join us for the Mapping Sprint 2018! Together, we write code, fix bugs, create documentation, and create unique video content for MapMap, the open source video mapping software. We use the Scrum methodology, along with some elements of Extreme Programming, since we work in pairs, in order to make this fantastic project progress a bit during a short, but intense, weekend. A the end of the week-end, we will release a new version of MapMap to be used by artists and designers around the world.
We are looking for both undergraduate & graduate students that are interested in this paid opportunity to help document and expand the technological / informational capacities of MapMap (http://projection-mapping.org/tools/mapmap/), an open source projection mapping software platform that Sofian has helped create. We’re currently looking for students with both projection mapping experience and / or video / photo documentation skills to be part of the event.
During this sprint, the participants will experiment the core elements of the scrum methodology. In the sprint planning, the product owner decides which tasks to prioritize, and the other participants, can express their interest in some of these challenges. Then, every day, in the stand-up meeting, each person says what they did since the day before, and what they are going to do next. We make sure to help anyone that is blocked, if needed. In the backlog grooming sessions, the participants sort-out the new issues and feature requests that were identified. We use a system of points where one point roughly represents one day’s worth of work. In the sprint demonstration meeting, the participants demonstrate what they were able to achieve during the sprint. Finally, in the sprint retrospective meeting, everyone will be able to identify what went well, and what could be improved, in the methodology that was used.
If you are interested in participating please contact Sofian Audry for more details.
